1. Who is responsible The operator of Quran Masterclass is responsible for processing your data. Contact details are in the imprint. Questions about your data: info@quranmasterclass.com.

2. What we process and why **Account data** – first name, last name, e-mail address, country, city (optional), learning goal (optional), language, password (stored only as a salted hash), time of registration, last sign-in. Purpose: to provide your account and learning features. Legal basis: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Learning data – your progress, bookmarks, notes, review schedule and daily practice count. Purpose: to provide the learning features and to sync them across your devices. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

E-mail for service messages – confirmation of your address and password reset. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

Marketing e-mails – only if you ticked the separate box. You can withdraw consent at any time. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Bot protection (Google reCAPTCHA) – to protect accounts, sign-ins, comments and feedback against automated attacks and spam we use Google reCAPTCHA on these forms (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). reCAPTCHA is only loaded when you open such a form – not on the other pages. Technical data such as your IP address, browser information and your interaction with the page are sent to and evaluated by Google; Google may set cookies for this, and a transfer to the USA is possible. Legal basis: legitimate interest in the security of the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms) apply.

Technical data and abuse protection – to limit the free daily tafsir for visitors without an account and to protect against abuse we store, for the current day, a hashed combination of your IP address and a random cookie value, together with the verses you opened. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Cookies We use only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie after sign-in and a random identifier for the daily free-tafsir limit. We use no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party analytics. The only exception is Google reCAPTCHA on the forms named above.

4. Recipients For reCAPTCHA, Google receives the technical data named above. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf to run the servers. If you use an e-mail feature, our e-mail provider transmits the messages. We do not sell personal data.

5. Storage period Account and learning data are kept until you delete your account. Daily usage records are deleted regularly. Sessions expire after 30 days.

6. Your rights You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@quranmasterclass.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

7. Children Accounts are meant for people aged 16 and over. Younger children should use the service together with a parent or guardian, who should create and manage the account.

8. Changes We will update this policy when the service changes. The date above shows the latest version.

Recitation check and recording When you use “Recite & check”, the site uses your browser's speech recognition. Your voice is processed by the browser's provider (Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari); we only receive the recognised text in your browser and do not store it. Your own recording (“Record”) stays in your browser tab only and is never uploaded.
