A new generation

Egyptian roots
Egypt has a rich history of Quran recitation, from the great masters of the 20th century to today. Islam Sobhi stands in this tradition but follows his own path: rather than the extended mujawwad style for which Egypt is famous, he mostly recites in the calm murattal style, with a melody that is simple and yet very memorable.
